Privacy Policy

Overview
SE-Cluster provides filing-native M&A intelligence, market maps, company strategy pages, target-discovery workflows, watchlists, public-data APIs, and a beta Filing Extractor. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have.
Most SE-Cluster data is built from public SEC EDGAR filings and other public or cited sources. Personal information is collected primarily when you contact us, join a waitlist, create an extractor account, save a watchlist, subscribe to review-window email, or use product features that need a session.
Information you provide
- Contact details, such as email address and optional name, when you join the waitlist, request access, contact support, subscribe to watchlist email, or create an extractor account.
- Watchlist and workflow inputs, such as companies you monitor, saved screens, target criteria, selected markets, reporting cadence, and other preferences you choose to save.
- Filing Extractor requests, such as target companies, tickers, CIKs, filing filters, form types, date ranges, selected templates, requested output fields, and custom instructions.
- Messages, feedback, support requests, and any other information you choose to send to us.
- If document upload or private-corpus extraction is enabled for your account, the documents, text, metadata, schema instructions, and output fields you submit for processing.
Information collected automatically
- Session information, including an anonymous session identifier used to save watchlists, saved workflows, assistant context, and related product state.
- Usage and event data, including pages visited, product actions, paths, entity identifiers, timestamps, referral source, country or region, browser or device type, user agent, and IP address.
- Extractor usage records, including the email tied to the beta account, monthly run count, quota period, extraction request metadata, selected targets, generated results, status, errors, and timestamps.
- Local browser storage used for client-side product state, such as saved watchlist email or locally cached monitor preferences.
Public-source and generated data
SE-Cluster retrieves and processes public company filings, public issuer identifiers, market classifications, filing excerpts, deal activity, strategy classifications, and derived metrics. We use automated systems and human review workflows to structure that information.
Generated outputs may include summaries, extracted facts, strategy labels, scores, rankings, evidence snippets, and research views. These outputs can be incomplete or incorrect and should be verified against the cited source documents before use.
How we use information
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve SE-Cluster.
- Save watchlists, workflow state, account settings, and extractor access.
- Run filing searches, prepare extraction plans, generate previews, and create filing reviews.
- Measure usage, debug issues, protect against abuse, and enforce beta quotas or rate limits.
- Respond to support requests, send product updates, and deliver review-window email you request.
- Maintain auditability, source references, system reliability, and legal compliance.
AI-assisted processing
Some Filing Extractor features use AI models to summarize or structure filing text. When you run those features, SE-Cluster may send selected SEC filing text, filing metadata, requested fields, templates, and your custom instructions to an AI service provider for processing.
Do not submit confidential, proprietary, personal, regulated, or sensitive information unless you have the right to do so and are comfortable with that information being processed by SE-Cluster and its service providers. Public SEC filing text may still contain names, signatures, compensation details, or other information that appears in the public filing record.
Cookies and local storage
SE-Cluster uses cookies and local storage for product functionality, not behavioral advertising. Current examples include:
secluster-sid, an HTTP-only anonymous session cookie used to preserve product state. It is set for up to one year.secluster-extractor-account, an HTTP-only cookie that remembers the email associated with Filing Extractor beta access. It is set for up to six months.- Browser local storage for client-side conveniences such as watchlist email state or locally saved monitor preferences.
You can clear cookies or local storage in your browser, but doing so may remove saved watchlists, account state, or product preferences.
Analytics and security logs
We use first-party analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate product usage and site reliability. Server logs and page-view records may include IP address, user agent, referrer, country, path, and timestamp. We also use abuse-prevention controls, including bot traps and blocked-IP lists, to protect the service.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share information in these limited ways:
- Service providers that help us host, store, analyze, secure, deliver, or process the product, including hosting, database, analytics, email, and AI processing providers.
- Public-source services such as SEC EDGAR when the product retrieves filings or metadata. Those requests are made to obtain public documents, not to disclose your personal information.
- Legal, safety, and compliance situations, including responding to lawful requests, enforcing our terms, investigating abuse, protecting rights or security, or preventing harm.
- Business transfers, such as a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate continuity of privacy protections.
- With your direction or consent, such as when you ask us to send a report, export, integration payload, or support response.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain records, improve reliability, enforce limits, protect against abuse, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
- Waitlist and contact emails are kept until you ask us to remove them or they are no longer needed.
- Session-linked watchlists and saved workflow state are kept while the session or account remains active, unless deleted earlier.
- Extractor account cookies expire after up to six months, and anonymous session cookies expire after up to one year, unless refreshed or cleared earlier.
- Extraction requests, generated results, and quota records may be retained to support auditability, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and product improvement.
- Aggregated or de-identified analytics may be retained for longer because it does not directly identify a user.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service, database, AI workflow, or transmission method is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
